PONS IP reaffirms its leadership in Trademarks with top-tier ranking in “IP Stars 2026”

PONS IP has achieved the highest recognition for its trademark advisory and management services in the IP Stars 2026 ranking. In Patents, it consolidates its positioning and reinforces its European leadership in the strategic management of intangible assets, as well as its ability to support companies operating in technology-driven innovation environments.

PONS IP, a global consultancy specialising in industrial and intellectual property, has once again been recognised by Managing Intellectual Property (MIP) in the 2026 edition of the IP Stars ranking, where it has achieved the highest classification (Tier 1) in Trademarks and maintains a strong position in Patents (Tier 2). This result consolidates PONS IP as one of the leading firms in the Spanish market and reinforces its integrated approach to the protection, management and strategic valorisation of intangible assets in an increasingly technology-driven and disruptive environment.

This recognition comes at a particularly significant time for PONS IP’s Trademark practice, which has strengthened its leadership both nationally and across Europe. The firm has been identified as the leading Spanish trademark applicant before the EUIPO in 2025, according to Cinco Días, and has also been ranked among the top 10 firms in Europe for EU trademark filings, based on data from the IP Pilot report. These achievements highlight its capability to support major corporations in the protection and international management of their distinctive assets.

Pablo López Ronda, Head of the Trademarks & Brand Intelligence Area at PONS IP, noted that this recognition for the trademark team by MIP “reflects the strength of a model built on specialisation, close alignment with clients’ business objectives and a strategic approach to the management of international portfolios. Our position as the leading Spanish applicant before the EUIPO and among the European top 10 further confirms the consistency and global reach of our work”.

Meanwhile, PONS IP’s Patent practice continues to strengthen its position as one of the company’s strategic pillars. Recently, the firm was recognised by the Financial Times for its European leadership in patents in 2025, underlining its technical excellence in highly innovation-intensive sectors. This positioning has been further reinforced by the launch of a new unit specialising in software, artificial intelligence and quantum technologies.

In this regard, Ana Herrera, Director of Patents, Technological Development and Innovation at PONS IP, stated that this recognition “highlights the strength of our highly specialised and multidisciplinary team, as well as our ability to anticipate the regulatory and technological challenges faced by our clients. The development of new capabilities in areas such as artificial intelligence and quantum technologies strengthens our value proposition in key sectors for our clients’ competitiveness”.

The IP Stars ranking, published by Managing Intellectual Property (MIP), a leading global publication in the sector, is based on an independent international research process carried out over more than six months across 70 jurisdictions. The methodology combines information submitted by firms with client interviews, market surveys and the analysis of public sources, such as IP office data and court decisions. The evaluation takes into account factors including technical expertise, experience, workload and complexity of matters handled, market reputation, and results achieved for clients.
