PONS IP consolidates its role as an international leader in the field of intellectual property asset management with its prominent participation in the upcoming INTA 2025 Annual Meeting to be held from 17 to 21 May in San Diego, California. This meeting, considered the most important global event for trademark and intellectual property professionals, will bring together this year nearly 10,000 experts from around the world to discuss the main challenges facing the sector.
For the first time, the legal services consulting firm specialising in intellectual property will be the only Spanish company actively participating in the official programme of the International Trademark Association (INTA). This non-profit association currently represents more than 6,400 organisations from 81 countries and 36,000 of the leading professionals in the trademark and intellectual property sector.
Therefore, through the prominent participation of Isabel Cortés Martínez, the company’s Director of Projects and Institutional Relations, on 19 May, PONS IP will be represented in the moderation of the round table entitled “Enhancing Data Analytics Through AI: Challenges and Opportunities for IP Professionals” in a session that will analyse how emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, cloud computing or data governance are redefining the professional practice of trademark law, improving key processes such as searching, portfolio management and strategic decision-making.
Isabel will be joined by a distinguished panel of international experts, including María Fé Lazarte, Senior Trade Mark and Technology Counsel at The Weir Group in Australia; Sheetal Patel, co-founding partner at LeonardPatel in the United States; and Patrice Vekemans, co-founder and CRO of the Belgian company Fovea IP, who will share their insights and experience on the impact of these technologies on the present and future of the profession.

Isabel Cortés’ participation in this forum comes at a key moment in her professional career, following her recent appointment in 2024 as Chair of the INTA Harmonisation of Trademark Law and Practice Committee, where she is also the only Spanish representative to head one of the association’s 19 strategic committees. From her position, the Director of Projects and Institutional Relations at PONS IP has been coordinating the analysis of international treaties, agreements and regulatory proposals for over a year, and represents the positions of INTA before relevant authorities and organisations worldwide, as was recently the case in Nice at a workshop with OAPI professionals.
In addition to this prominent role in the academic programme, PONS IP will be represented by a large delegation of seven professionals assigned to this meeting in California. They will have access to a Business Suite within the conference venue for private networking sessions with clients and international strategic partners. Alongside Isabel Cortés, the delegation of professionals in San Diego will be led by Guillermo Criado, the consulting firm’s current Director of International Business Development, together with his department colleagues Jialin Chen and Patricia Martínez. The PONS IP delegation in California will be reinforced this year by the attendance of Rocío Peris, Commercial Director, Juan Camilo Amaya, Deputy Director of the Colombia Office, and José Pons, Business Development at the consulting firm.
