The current director of the Patents, Technological Development and Innovation Department, Ana Herrera, has been included for the first time in the important Managing Intelectual Property (MIP) known as “Rising Stars”. This list recognizes the best talents from the international industrial property sector in more than 50 jurisdictions from across the world.
A graduate in Biology from the Autonomous University of Madrid, Ana Herrera holds a Master’s Degree in Biotechnology and a Master’s Degree in European Patent Law from the EOI Business School and the University of Strasbourg. With more than 12 years of experience in the sector, the recently named director of Patents, Technological Development and Innovation at PONS IP has been a European Patent Agent since 2015 and leads a team of 40 professionals specialized in fields such as biotechnology, engineering and chemistry, among others.
With this inclusion on the list, Ana Herrera joins two other professionals from PONS IP who received important recognitions in the publications renowned rankings in May. MIP included Carmen González, our director of Brands & Brand Intelligence, as a Trademark Star 2022 , while the assistant director-general of PONS IP, Patricia Ramos, was also included in the Patent Star 2022 list and also on the exclusive Top 250 Women in IP.
Managing IP launched its official Rising Stars publication in 2018. This special publication, created by the MIP’s IP STARS research team, recognizes the most promising professionals in intellectual property, whose contribution has been key in their companies and also for their customers. The Rising Stars list is based on information obtained during the research for the 2022 edition of the IP STARS classification and the Managing IP Awards programme. MIP’s research analysts use all the research data available with special attention paid to customer evaluations and professional recognition from the market when creating this list.
