PONS IP highlights Intellectual Property as a “strategic infrastructure” for business growth at Innovaday Palencia 2026

PONS IP took part in Innovaday Palencia 2026, the event organised by APD and the Palencia City Council, which has established itself as a leading forum on innovation and business transformation in Castile and León, with a focus on the integration of Intellectual Property into companies’ business development strategies.

The consulting firm specialising in intellectual property was represented by its General Manager, Nuria Marcos, who emphasised the need for companies to approach innovation beyond technology adoption, incorporating the protection, management and valuation of intangible assets as a structural element of competitiveness.

During her speech, Marcos highlighted that intellectual property acts as an invisible yet essential infrastructure for organisations that innovate, as it enables knowledge and technology to be converted into economic value, provides legal certainty for decision-making, and reduces risks in investment, growth and collaboration processes. In this regard, she argued that patents, trademarks, designs and know‑how should be incorporated from the very early stages of defining the business model, supporting innovation and business expansion processes in a coherent manner.

This vision is in line with the roadmap that PONS IP has been promoting in recent years in business and institutional forums, warning about the risks of innovating without a clear intellectual property strategy and reinforcing its role as a lever for successfully translating innovation into business.

Innovaday Palencia 2026, a leading forum on innovation, technological transformation and competitiveness

The annual Innovaday Palencia 2026 event brought together more than one hundred executives, companies and institutions in a day focused on applied innovation, technological transformation and the future of industry, in which key issues such as the application of artificial intelligence in business models, the evolution of industrial talent, and the challenges associated with sustainable growth were addressed.

During the opening session, the honorary president of APD Castilla y León, Carlos Moro, emphasised that “innovation is no longer a distant prospect or merely aspirational rhetoric, but a structural prerequisite for competitiveness”, highlighting the impact that technologies such as artificial intelligence, advanced automation and data analysis are having on the transformation of organisations. Moro also noted the importance of translating innovation into business and turning it into tangible results, indicating that “what truly brings about transformation is not just technology, but the ability of organisations to adopt it, scale it up and generate a real impact”.

For her part, the Mayor of Palencia, Miriam Andrés, highlighted the importance of collaboration between institutions and businesses as a driving force for economic development, attracting talent and creating new opportunities, emphasising Palencia’s role as an industrial and business hub ready to lead projects linked to technological transformation and sustainable growth.

The event was attended by business representatives and experts from organisations such as Google Cloud, Grupo Inmapa, PONS IP, Mahle, Sociograph and Farming Agrícola, alongside other leading companies in the fields of innovation, industry, technology and talent.
