Madrid, December 2, 2021.- PONS IP, a global company specializing in Intellectual Property, is now a partner of WIPO Green, the World Intellectual Property Organization online platform created in 2013 to promote technology exchange and support global efforts to address climate change by connecting providers with those seeking environmentally-friendly technologies. Out of the 134 WIPO Green partners worldwide, PONS IP is the first company to become a partner in this global platform that features the main public and private entities linked to the innovation ecosystem worldwide.
PONS IP’s appointment to the WIPO Green advisory council strengthens the firm’s commitment to promoting sustainable innovation, in line with the goals set after the company adopted the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations Global Compact in 2020, in addition to the intense information and awareness-raising activity PONS IP has been carrying out through Fundación PONS to promote an R&D+i culture and the importance of sustainable development among Spanish companies over the last 15 years.
As research and communication partners, PONS IP will provide WIPO Green members with the expertise of the Patent, Technological Development and Innovation department team. PONS IP will also make its resources available to the organization to disseminate its initiatives among Spanish companies and public entities, as well as to organize meetings that contribute to raising awareness on the important role innovation plays in promoting a positive environmental impact.
Isabel Cortés, Institutional Relations Manager at PONS IP, considers this appointment ‘as a huge milestone for our company, which we embrace with enthusiasm, assuming the great responsibility of being the first intellectual property firm in Spain to join this global project. We would also like to thank the WIPO for trusting in PONS IP. We hope more companies follow our path in the near future so that, together, we can achieve the great shared goal of mitigating climate change by promoting knowledge, innovation and open collaboration.’
