The 20th edition of the Master’s Programme in Intellectual Property and Technological Innovation, promoted by PONS Business School in collaboration with ISDE, has begun the 2025-2026 academic year with a notable international presence. The programme brings together 34 students from Mexico, Ecuador, Colombia, the Dominican Republic, Paraguay, Argentina and Spain, and now has 400 graduates from its twenty editions, consolidating its position as a benchmark in the training of specialists in intellectual property in both Spain and Latin America.
Through its Business School, PONS IP plays a central role in the academic management and practical orientation of the programme. Institutional representatives and the academic team, including Miriam López, Academic Director of PONS Business School; Alfredo Bermúdez de Castro, Director of the Master’s programme; and Isabel Cortés, Technical Director of the Master’s Programme and Director of International Relations at PONS IP, together with María Jesús Magro, Managing Director of PONS Business School, all attended the opening ceremony, held at ISDE’s headquarters in Madrid.
During the event, María Jesús Magro emphasised the importance of protecting intangible assets and the need for professionals who are prepared to face the challenges of innovation and the knowledge economy. She highlighted that the practical training provided by the master’s programme facilitates the incorporation of students into innovation consulting firms, legal departments, law firms and public bodies, and emphasised PONS IP’s commitment to excellence and employability in the sector.
In turn, Isabel Cortés highlighted the international diversity of the student body and the quality of the faculty, made up of more than 70 active professionals. She pointed out that learning is enriched by the coexistence of students from different countries and the experience of the teachers, who not only impart technical knowledge, but also a practical and up-to-date vision of the sector.
The master’s programme, directed by Alfredo Bermúdez de Castro, Business Affairs executive at Amazon MGM Studios & Prime Video and former student, benefits from the active participation of PONS IP in the technical management and coordination of key modules. Luis Ignacio Vicente del Olmo and Patricia Ramos, both from PONS IP, coordinate the patent module, while other experts in the sector lead areas such as trademarks, competition, entertainment law and cybersecurity.
The programme, which is taught in both face-to-face and blended modes, covers areas such as patents, trademarks, competition, advertising, entertainment law, cybersecurity and new technologies. This year, it includes guided visits to public bodies such as the CSIC and private entities, including film and music production companies, bringing students closer to the professional world and promoting direct contact with the sector.
One of the distinguishing features of the master’s programme is the professional internship system managed by PONS Business School, which guarantees that 100% of students have access to a three-month practical experience in top-level companies, firms and institutions. Notable collaborating entities include Mahou-San Miguel, Sony Pictures, Mediaset España, Ineco Biotech, Fundación COTEC, ANOVE, the Spanish Patent and Trademark Office (SPTO) and the WIPO, among others. This commitment to employability translates into a job placement rate of over 90% in companies and entities linked to innovation, intangible asset management, intellectual property, and legal services.
After twenty editions and with an international network of alumni through PONS Alumni, the Master’s Programme from PONS Business School and ISDE has established itself as an option for those seeking comprehensive and practical training that is aligned with the needs of a sector that is constantly evolving and has a growing demand for specialised professionals.
