PONS IP, a global consultancy in Industrial and Intellectual Property, announces the appointment of Isabel Cortés, Director of Institutional Projects, to the International Trademark Association’s (INTA) Famous and Well‑Known Marks Committee, and Guillermo Criado, Director of International Business Development, to the INTA Bulletins Correspondents Pool. Both appointments, effective from 1 January 2026, represent a direct recognition by INTA—the world’s most influential organisation in the field of intellectual property—of the expertise and legal knowledge of our professionals.

The Famous and WellKnown Marks Committee plays a pivotal role in developing and advocating INTA’s policy regarding the balanced protection of famous and well‑known marks. Its responsibilities include monitoring developments in treaties, case law, legislation and regulation across jurisdictions, conducting analyses, and proposing policy recommendations to the Board. The Committee also drafts reports and submissions and engages in advocacy alongside other INTA committees and staff—activities that shape global standards for brand protection.

Reflecting on her appointment, Isabel Cortés stated: “Safeguarding the distinctiveness of famous brands demands clear, coherent rules across jurisdictions. I’m honoured to join INTA’s Committee and to help advance pragmatic, evidence‑based policy for rights‑holders worldwide.”

Meanwhile, Guillermo Criado joins the INTA Bulletins Correspondents Pool, an official group of legal experts selected to provide localised legal analysis and updates for INTA’s flagship publication, the INTA Bulletin. As a correspondent, Guillermo will contribute articles and legal insights on case law, legislative changes and market trends, ensuring PONS IP remains at the forefront of international legal debate. Commenting on his new role, Guillermo said: “I look forward to collaborating on the INTA Bulletin alongside an amazing group of professionals, sharing fresh news and insightful content on intellectual property in Spain. This is an exciting opportunity to continue contributing to such an outstanding association, and I am grateful for it.”

Both appointments also entail active participation in the sector’s most prominent events, notably the INTA Annual Meeting 2026, which will take place in London from 2 to 6 May. This will be INTA’s most ambitious meeting to date, bringing together over 10,000 IP professionals, business leaders and policymakers from 140 jurisdictions to shape the future of intellectual property and intangible assets. Alongside Isabel Cortés and Guillermo Criado, PONS IP’s International team will attend this global forum, reinforcing our presence in the spaces where international IP policy and strategy are defined.
