PONS IP, a global consulting firm specialising in Intellectual Property, has welcomed a delegation of US students from the international program The Lex Fellowship at its Madrid headquarters with the aim of presenting the services of the company’s Legal Department team and its work methodology. Most of the conference consisted of the analysis of a case study prepared by our Intellectual Property Lawyers Emilia Seijo and Jorge Vicente.
The Lex Fellowship annual educational program is aimed at young people between 18 and 21 years of age from different schools in the United States. The 13 students who visited us are finishing their 4-year undergraduate studies and are now preparing to apply for admission to law school. PONS IP is part of the three-week program through which the students can get to know the most prestigious firms with headquarters in Madrid.
Being one of the leading companies in the provision of services for the support, assessment and protection of intangible assets, the visit to PONS IP focused on its positioning, services and proposals for the market.
The case study chosen by the professionals was related to the Messi brand where, for more than 1 hour, the students had to work on its analysis and resolution from an intellectual property perspective. This activity helped them to put themselves in the shoes of the PONS IP team that worked for several years on the case and was resolved in 2018 in the Court of Justice of the European Union.
