PONS IP, a global consulting firm specialising in intellectual property services, has given a positive assessment following the official closing of the INTA 2025 Annual Meeting, held in San Diego (California), which has established itself as the leading global forum for professionals in the field of trademarks and intellectual property. With more than 10,000 attendees from 140 countries, 1,450 organisations represented and more than 375 training, networking and strategic analysis sessions, this edition has been a turning point for the international intellectual property community in the post-pandemic context, setting a record for both attendance and the number of meetings, forums and technical sessions.

In addition, in 2025, our company has managed to strengthen its international profile by being the only company in the sector based in Spain to be included in the official academic programme, thus reinforcing its commitment to generating valuable knowledge about IP at an international level. In this regard, one of the highlights of the event was the participation of Isabel Cortés Martínez, Director of Institutional Relations and Projects at PONS IP, who moderated the academic session “Enhancing Data Analytics Through AI: Challenges and Opportunities for IP Professionals”. In this high-level round table, Isabel was joined by an international panel of experts consisting of Maria Fe Lazarte, Senior Trademark and Technology Counsel at The Weir Group, Sheetal Patel, Co-Founding Partner at LeonardPatel, and Patrice Vekemans, Co-founder and CRO at Fovea IP.

During the session, the impact of emerging technologies on portfolio management, trademark search and defence strategy, and decision-making in the field of intellectual property was discussed. The legal challenges associated with data governance, the need for harmonised regulatory frameworks and the ethical and responsible use of artificial intelligence by professionals in the sector were also explored in depth. This event marked another milestone in Isabel’s career at INTA following her recent appointment as Chair of the Harmonization of Trademark Law and Practice Committee, where she represents the Association at the highest levels of international dialogue.

In addition to its role in the academic programme, the PONS IP team has developed an intensive work agenda from its official Business Suite, an exclusive space set up in the Convention Center that has served as a meeting point with clients, international firms, public entities and strategic partners, consolidating key alliances and projecting our value proposition globally.

The PONS IP delegation that travelled to California was made up of a significant group of seven professionals, including Guillermo Criado, Director of International Business Development; Jialin Chen and Patricia Martínez-Carrasco Mesa, from the international team; Rocío Peris Hueso, Sales Manager; Juan Camilo Amaya Álvarez, Assistant Director of the Colombian Office; José Pons Zuazo, Business Development, along with Isabel Cortés herself. Their work and commitment have been fundamental in strengthening PONS IP’s positioning as a benchmark in legal innovation and institutional leadership in the global intellectual property ecosystem.
