The Community of Madrid announced the launch of the new edition of the European Digital Innovation Hubs Programme, EDIH Madrid Region 2.0, which will position Artificial Intelligence (AI) as the focal point for accelerating the digitisation of public entities and companies. This initiative, co-financed by the European Commission until 2028, aims to facilitate access to advanced technologies and strengthen the competitiveness of Madrid’s business network. It further lends continuity to the previous edition that supported more than 500 public institutions and companies for three years through technological tests, training actions and expert advice.
The consortium for this new phase of the project is coordinated by the Madri+d Knowledge Foundation and involves the participation of PONS IP, the Carlos III and Polytechnic University of Madrid public universities, the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC), EIT Digital Spain, the Henares Business Association, the Madrid Metal Companies Association, the Madrid Chamber of Commerce, and the Regional Artificial Intelligence Cluster.
PONS IP’s contribution focuses on its expertise in the management and protection of intangible assets and industrial property rights, key elements to ensure that technological innovation translates into sustainable competitive advantages. The consulting firm also brings its own experience in innovation projects such as Scale Lab, which positions it as a benchmark when it comes to strategically supporting companies undergoing digital transformation processes, ensuring that the incorporation of disruptive technologies is carried out with legal certainty and adequate protection of technological developments.
Over the next three years, the initiative will launch a pioneering AI helpdesk service that will act as a centralised point of contact for SMEs and organisations in the public sector, offering comprehensive advice and access to European Commission tools. The estimated impact of the planned actions exceeds twelve million euros, consolidating this call as a key opportunity to promote the adoption of disruptive technologies in the region.
This collaboration enables PONS IP to reinforce its role in the innovation ecosystem, helping to ensure that the digital transformation is carried out with legal guarantees, protection of intangible assets and strategies that foster business development and competitiveness.
