PONS IP ranks among the top ten firms in Europe in terms of the volume of European Union trade mark applications filed with the EUIPO between 2021 and 2025. This is confirmed by the recent report from IP Pilot which ranks the industrial and intellectual property consulting firm at number ten in Europe, with 4,502 published applications and cumulative growth of 8% over the five-year period analysed. These milestones reinforce PONS IP’s position as a leading player in the management and defence of trademarks across the continent.
The study also confirms the dynamism of the Spanish market in the field of EU trademarks: With 113,689 applications published between 2021 and 2025, which represents approximately 20% of the European total, Spain is the clear leader. Following the recovery in 2024, which saw growth of 2% compared with 2023, the year 2025 ended with a stable volume of registrations, painting a challenging picture for the current and future growth of companies in the sector specialising in IP.
The recent inclusion of PONS IP in the IP Pilot analysis follows a recent recognition published by the business newspaper Cinco Días which, in its first ranking of firms based on applications filed in 2025, placed PONS IP at the top of the Top 15 with 1752 EU and Spanish trademark applications filed the previous year.
From a corporate perspective, these results reflect the natural evolution of PONS IP towards an increasingly international model and a comprehensive approach to the protection of intangible assets. The consulting firm has strengthened its structure to operate with the same technical excellence and client-focused approach across various markets, bringing together multidisciplinary teams and common methodologies that enable it to implement protection and defence strategies with a European reach and international scope.
The direct presence of PONS IP in Spain, Colombia, and China, along with a well-established network of over 300 collaborators worldwide, provides clients with a single point of contact, faster response times, and a comprehensive approach in managing their trademark portfolios as they expand from the local to the global stage.
Looking ahead to 2026, PONS IP will continue to drive its international expansion and enhance its value proposition in the field of Trademarks & Brand Intelligence, with the aim of anticipating trends, protecting companies’ reputations, and maximising the return on their intangible assets in innovation-intensive sectors.
