Managing Intellectual Property (MIP), a leading global publication in the area of intellectual property, published the results of its IP Stars 2025 ranking, once again recognising PONS IP as one of the top firms in Spain. In this edition, our firm achieved the highest rating–Tier 1–in the Trademark category, as well as maintained its prominent position in the patent area. This strengthens our leadership when it comes to offering comprehensive advice on industrial property and recognises PONS IP’s commitment and performance to its clients and its ability to adapt to the challenges posed by the protection of intangible assets with the advent of technological disruption.
The ranking analysed the performance of more than 1,900 international firms specialising in industrial property, of which 875 were ultimately selected for their work in the area of patents in 51 jurisdictions worldwide. The classification covers multiple categories, including processing, litigation, and strategic portfolio management of patents and trademarks.
PONS IP’s result in the ranking reflects our team’s ongoing efforts. The Trademarks department, the leader in terms of the volume of trademark portfolios under management in Spain, achieved the highest recognition thanks to its “solid experience” in designing and managing global trademark strategies for major companies in highly competitive sectors such as telecommunications, media, energy, and distribution, among others. For its part, the Patents department, under the leadership of Ana Herrera, has a multidisciplinary team of more than 40 professionals specialised in sectors such as biotechnology, engineering, chemistry, and ICT, reinforcing its position as one of the strongest in the national market.
The IP Stars ranking is drawn up annually by the Managing IP editorial team based on a rigorous international research process that takes place over the course of more than six months. The methodology combines interviews, questionnaires, and reviews of client and competitor files, along with an in-depth analysis of each firm’s most relevant operations. This year’s edition also highlighted firms that have undergone significant growth or that have successfully adapted to new industry trends, such as technological innovation, key litigation, and portfolio management in international environments.
