The PONS IP team has been included, for yet another year, among the leading IP consultants in the IAM Patent 1000 2024 – The World´s Leading Patent Professionals, the annual benchmark magazine for professionals in the sector.

The ranking, based on analysis and interviews with both clients and companies in the sector, considers that “given PONS IP’s remarkable track record and unwavering dedication, it is an exceptional option for anyone seeking expert guidance and invaluable support in navigating the intricate landscape of IP strategy”.

It also notes that PONS IP lawyers “consistently offer innovative solutions with a unique insight and have extensive expertise and in-depth knowledge of patent law,” it concludes.

One by one, IAM Patent 1000 2024 has assessed the work and performance of the PONS IP team members. As for Ana Herrera, Patent Manager, it values “her extensive knowledge and strategic discernment to guide various organisations through the patent prosecution process”. The magazine praises her background in biology, which has enabled her to successfully assist the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC), the University of Minho and other entities in the prosecution of a patent for an ultra-sensitive biosensor for the detection of hepatitis C virus, “a revolutionary and pioneering innovation that will transform the diagnosis of the disease”, highlights AIM.

Patricia Ramos, Assistant Director-General of PONS IP, has more than two decades of experience in advising companies. “With an illustrious career that includes valuable industry experience, she uses her wealth of knowledge to come up with commercially astute solutions,” notes IAM Patent.

In terms of cutting-edge technologies and engineering, Gabriel Castilla, head of the Engineering Area of PONS IP’s Patent Department, stands out. The ranking values the vision of clients, as “their expert advice is appreciated nationally and internationally”.

On the other hand, it also highlighted the role of Isabel Cortés, Manager of Projects and Institutional Relations, who “beyond her professional contributions, actively participates in the exchange of knowledge through conferences and seminars, strengthening PONS IP’s international relations”.

IAM also includes as Recommended Individuals the director of the Patent Area Nicolás Carvajal, for playing “a fundamental role in his appreciation of the particularities of each client’s technology”; and Juan Camilo Amaya, deputy director of PONS IP Colombia, for having “an exemplary capacity to manage portfolios or to take appropriate legal action”.
