PONS IP, a global consulting firm specialising in Intellectual Property, has appointed Guillermo Criado as Director of International Business Development in order to reinforce the consulting firm’s internationalisation strategy.

This appointment, newly created in PONS IP, follows the recent integration of SILEX IP and represents key strengthening of human capital within the International Area at the consulting firm. The aim of this action is to generate new business opportunities in the main markets where the company already has a global presence.

With more than 20 years of experience in the sector, Guillermo Criado has an extensive professional background and in-depth knowledge of the business sector in the Asian, American, European and Australian markets. Furthermore, as a founding partner of SILEX IP, he had the opportunity to design and implement intellectual property strategies with multinational companies, some of which are Fortune 500 companies.

During his career, he has successfully balanced his professional experience with dedicated commitment to the world of teaching. He has been an Associate Professor of Patents at the Official Association of Pharmacists of Madrid and a Professor in Intellectual Property Management and Commercialisation at UFV-AVDEN Business School. He is a member of the Law Firm Committee of the INTA organisation and is currently an active member of the Board of Directors of LES Spain and Portugal, serving as its Secretary and Treasurer. LES Spain and Portugal is the Iberian Peninsula chapter organisation of LES International, the world’s leading forum for representing professionals in the intellectual property and technology transfer sector. He is also a member of the IAM 300 and WTR 1000 rankings.

He studied Biological Sciences at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid and also has a Master’s Degree in Marketing and Commercial Management in the Pharmaceutical Industry from Universidad Francisco de Vitoria (CESiF).
