In accordance with the statement issued by the SPTO (Spanish Patent and Trademark Office), PONS IP would like to inform you that, once again, fraudulent letters and e-mails are being sent out requiring payment of fees to applicants and agents for services related to trademarks, designs, and models. These documents occasionally make fraudulent use of the name of the Spanish Patent and Trademark Office, and even reproduce fake SPTO letterheads, stamps, and signatures.
These “so-called companies” use the information contained in the publications officially issued by the SPTO pursuant to the relevant law and send misleading receipts to the applicants or agents, stating a current account into which the deposit is intended to be made.
PONS IP wishes to alert you that this type of fraudulent documents are not issued or supported by the SPTO, nor are they legally valid and in no case are they related to any of its official publications.
Therefore, please remember that if a notification is received requiring payment to be made by bank transfer or requesting any deposit to a current account, it is likely to be a case of fraud.
If necessary, before making any payment, please contact us by calling our customer service number 91 700 76 00, or sending an e-mail to clientes@ponsip.com, so that we can advise you and avoid any financial loss that would be difficult to solve. You can also consult the official website www.oepm.es
