Leader in EU trademark applications since 1996
Madrid, March 31, 2021.- During the XVI Virtual Gala of the 2020 Managing IP Awards organized by the specialist publication Managing Intellectual Property (MIP) for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). PONS IP, a global firm specialized in comprehensive advice in intellectual property, has been awarded as the “Firm of the Year 2020” in Trademark Prosecution.
This annual award, the most comprehensive and respected in the industry, acknowledges the achievements of the most innovative law firms and lawyers in the international market who have excelled in their work over the past 12 months. During its 16th edition, MIP acknowledged the work of leading law firms in Europe across a wide range of IP practice areas and more than 30 jurisdictions based on information from MIP research analysts gathered from thousands of law firms, IP professionals and clients feedback through interviews and surveys.
PONS IP‘s award is in line with its historical leadership in EU trademark matters, because since the creation of this type of intellectual property in 1996, PONS IP is the most active Spanish firm in trademark advice and registration before the EUIPO, with close to 10,000 trademarks processed for its national and international clients and close to 600 in 2020 alone, where it also led this ranking among Spanish IP firms.
“It is an honor to receive this award from MIP.” said Nuria Marcos PONS IP Managing Director. “This recognition would not have been possible without the commitment and professionalism of our Trademark team, and without the trust our clients and partners place in us, especially in 2020. In a particularly complex and changing context such as the current one, intellectual property, and specifically trademarks, must be understood as useful instruments to promote the generation of a unique identity for the country and its companies, supporting economic recovery”.
The 2020 Managing IP Awards has highlighted the work of PONS IP’s Trademark Area, which in this edition also positioned itself among the five most outstanding Patent Advice and Registration (Patent Prosecution) firms in Spain.
