Isabel Cortés has been appointed International Affairs Director at PONS IP. Cortés, a renowned trademark attorney specializing in European Union law, has been collaborating with the company for more than 20 years as International Trademark Director, up until now.

With this appointment, the new head of International Affairs takes on the coordination of PONS IP’s overseas offices and team of directors. In addition, she will also manage the company’s relations with its network of more than 300 associated offices worldwide.

Isabel Cortés takes on this role at a crucial time in the company’s internationalisation process, which began in 2015, with the opening of the first PONS IP office abroad. The company currently has offices in the United States, Belgium, China, and a LATAM Desk in Colombia, in addition to its six offices in Spain.

A graduate in Law from the University of San Pablo CEU, Isabel holds a Master’s degree in Intellectual Property from the Universidad Pontificia Comillas (ICADE), as well as a European Master’s degree in Law and Economics from the Universities of Hamburg and Ghent. Her vast experience in intellectual property has earned her the recognition of her colleagues and of the industry in general: In 2017 and 2018, she was featured in one of the most prestigious rankings of trademark lawyers in the world, the World’s Leading Trademark Professionals, by the World Trademark Review journal.
