Álvaro Atilano has been appointed new International Business and Project Development Director at PONS IP, thus taking a new step in the company’s objective of boosting its growth in new markets and continuing with its internationalization and service diversification strategy within its 360º Vision framework.
The new manager joins PONS after holding the position of Chief Executive Officer in the Vice Presidency of Productive and Financial Development at the Latin American Development Bank (CAF), a financial institution where he was the main promoter and coordinator of the Regional Initiative for the Development of CAF Patents.
During his professional career, Atilano has held different senior positions in the management and coordination of International Consulting Projects in environmental assessment and management for more than 30 years, as well as the presidency of Nova Oceanic Energy Systems, Inc. where he worked defining strategies for the development of patentable technologies for the extraction of renewable energy from oceans, seas, and tropical rivers. After leaving Nova Oceanic Energy Systems, Inc. Atilano held the position of International Consultant at Innovation and Development LLC advising on regional strategies for the promotion of patent development via PCT in Latin America for international development agencies.
A Magna Cum Laude Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the University of Massachusetts in Boston (USA), the new International Business and Project Development Director at PONS IP also holds a Master of Science in Environmental Engineering from the University of Southern California in Los Angeles (USA).
