PONS IP, a global consulting firm specialising in intellectual property, has taken stock of the first half of 2025, which was packed with an intense schedule of activities at the main international professional forums and meetings in the sector. The team from the PONS IP International Department participated directly in nine international meetings<\/strong> held in seven different countries in Europe and America<\/strong> in the field of intellectual property, which has given a significant boost to its global visibility, strengthened its network of strategic alliances, and helped it achieve its business development objectives and position itself as a leading company in the management and protection of intangible assets worldwide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The highlight of the semester coincided in May with PONS IP\u2019s participation in the INTA 2025 Annual Meeting<\/strong>, held in San Diego (California). This edition was also the most important since the pandemic, with more than 10,000 attendees from 140 countries and 375 technical sessions. In addition to maintaining a busy schedule of meetings from its official Business Suite, PONS IP was the only Spanish consulting firm in the sector included in the official academic programme<\/strong>. In this context, Isabel Cort\u00e9s Mart\u00ednez<\/strong>, Director of Institutional Relations and Projects, participated as a moderator in a session on data analytics and artificial intelligence applied to intangible asset management, providing strategic insight from her new role as Chair of INTA\u2019s Harmonization of Trademark Law and Practice Committee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The delegation that travelled to California was composed of Guillermo Criado<\/strong>, Director of International Development, accompanied by a large team of consultants, lawyers and intellectual property specialists such as Jialin Chen<\/strong>, Patricia Mart\u00ednez-Carrasco Mesa<\/strong>, Roc\u00edo Peris Hueso<\/strong>, Juan Camilo Amaya \u00c1lvarez<\/strong>, Jos\u00e9 Pons Zuazo<\/strong> and Isabel Cort\u00e9s<\/strong>, who held more than 300 key bilateral meetings with international firms, clients and leading public bodies in the sector.<\/p>\n\n\n

Prior to the success at INTA, PONS IP\u2019s international tour began in January<\/strong> with the participation of Patricia Mart\u00ednez-Carrasco Mesa<\/strong>, lawyer and consultant in the International Department of PONS IP, at the World IP Forum<\/strong> held in Dubai<\/strong>, one of the leading events in the Asian market. While there, she participated in professional meetings and workshops focused on the impact of disruptive technologies such as artificial intelligence and blockchain on the protection and management of intangible assets, also meeting with key international partners from India and Southeast Asia.<\/p>\n\n\n

Then, in February, Guillermo Criado<\/strong> participated in two events in Central Europe: the AIPPI<\/strong> mid-term meeting in Zagreb<\/strong>, focusing on the latest international regulatory developments in IP, and the AREA<\/strong> meeting in Copenhagen<\/strong>, which addressed the main global regulatory approaches to the use of AI, emerging tools applied to rights management and the challenges facing professionals in the sector as a result of their increasing integration into innovation processes.<\/p>\n\n\n

In March<\/strong>, Isabel Cort\u00e9s<\/strong> represented the consulting firm at the MARQUES<\/strong> spring event in Barcelona<\/strong>, a key forum on trends in trademark management in Europe. At the same time, Guillermo Criado<\/strong> attended the INTA Leadership Meeting<\/strong> in New York<\/strong>, reinforcing his role as a liaison with international organisations by attending a technical conference on the value of trade secrets within the framework of intangible asset protection, while PONS IP\u2019s International Department consultant Jialin Chen <\/strong>attended the 105th edition of the Pharmaceutical Trade Marks Group (PTMG)<\/strong> conference held in Edinburgh<\/strong>, an event considered one of the most influential in the pharmaceutical sector in terms of intellectual property, where she was able to meet with industry leaders and international legal experts to analyse the main regulatory and strategic challenges in the protection of pharmaceutical trademarks.<\/p>\n\n\n

In June<\/strong>, the Director of International Business Development, Guillermo Criado<\/strong>, participated in the BIO International Convention<\/strong> in Boston<\/strong>, one of the most important events for the biotechnology industry worldwide, where opportunities for collaboration with companies in the field of biotechnology and life sciences were explored. At the same time, Isabel Cort\u00e9s<\/strong> finally attended the ECTA Annual Conference<\/strong> in Berlin<\/strong>, where she held working meetings with members of the association and established new contacts with leading European players in the management of trademarks, designs and litigation.<\/p>\n\n\n

This overview of international activity will continue in the second half of the year with several important events, such as the 44th ABPI Congress in Brazil, the MARQUES Annual Conference in The Hague (Netherlands) and the AIPPI World Congress, which will be held in Yokohama, Japan this year. Furthermore, further ahead in 2025, we will have the AIPLA Annual Meeting, which will be held in Washington this year, as well as the 22nd ASIPI Congress, which will close the year in Buenos Aires, as the most important events in which PONS IP will be present.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
