Roc\u00edo Peris<\/strong>, Head of the PONS IP Business Development Area focused her presentation on the understanding of industrial and intellectual property, the different fundamental strategies for the business, the protection of intangible assets and how the company works, highlighting that \u201cwe are in a world based on free competition, and companies are governed by the same parameters; however, the only rights that break away from this are industrial and intellectual property rights, since they create a monopoly situation. As such, although sometimes unknown, patents and trademarks have a very important role. IP is especially relevant in companies, since 90% of the value of companies is made up of intangible assets, meaning, if they work well, companies will grow exponentially\u201d.<\/p>\n\n Followed by Mar\u00eda Jes\u00fas Magro<\/strong>, general director of PONS Foundation, the young people participating in the programme of visits received some hints about how the PONS Foundation headquarters acts as, in the words of Magro, \u201ca liaison entity between the innovation ecosystem and the business fabric, helping companies and research organisations bring their innovative products to the market through the industrial property strategy\u201d.<\/p>\n\n To conclude and understand the role of PONS Business School professionals in student training, Miriam L\u00f3pez,<\/strong>academic director, emphasised the Master\u2019s degree in Industrial and Intellectual Property, Competition and New Technologies; noting that during the 9 months of training, \u201cwe teach students and future professionals everything that PONS IP is capable of doing, obtaining a realistic and in-depth view of the market from different professionals and expert professors, delving into the knowledge and instruments of competitive intelligence, and the different protection systems for intangible assets\u201d.<\/p>\n
