Carmen Gonz\u00e1lez, Trademark and Brand Intelligence Manager at PONS IP, has been re-elected by the Board of Directors of the Official Association of Intellectual Property Agents (COAPI) as Vice President of the organization after the General Meeting held on March 23 in Madrid. The organization that represents all Intellectual Property Agents in Spain linked to the management of intellectual property relies once more in the management team led by Inmaculada de la Haza as President of COAPI and Carmen Gonz\u00e1lez as Vice President, for a further two years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During the last year, and despite the circumstances caused by the pandemic, COAPI increased its activity aimed to partners both in terms of information and training for COAPI members, while at the same time establishing numerous institutional collaborations with organizations representing the industry in order to add value to members in line with the objectives set by the Board of Directors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As COAPI itself points out, this election ‘represents a new dawn for our association at a time when Intellectual Property has become extremely relevant in today’s society, in which the knowledge economy represents a very important value for companies and in which their intangible assets have gained a new prominence over traditional tangible assets’.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Following the meeting, and in her role as vice president of COAPI, Carmen Gonz\u00e1lez said: ‘the fact that my colleagues have voted me back in as vice president is a recognition that spurs me on to continue my work at the Board of Directors in support of our profession and the defense of our collective in this latest stage’.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The reappointment of Carmen Gonz\u00e1lez Candela comes at a time when she is considered one of the best known trademark lawyers in Spain and internationally, with nearly 25 years’ expertise in intellectual property, and has been linked to PONS IP since 2007 where she started working at the company’s International Trademarks Department.\u00a0 With a Law Degree and a Master’s Degree in Intellectual Property and Information Society from the University of Alicante, Carmen Gonz\u00e1lez has also been an Official Intellectual Property Agent for 20 years.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
