The book “APPtual\u00edzate: Applications for entrepreneurs” from the publishing house Exlibric, was presented on May 13th.<\/p>\n

Luis Olivan Jim\u00e9nez<\/strong>, experienced director of TVE <\/strong>and deputy director of the “Emprende”<\/strong> show, and Marieta Fern\u00e1ndez Leal<\/strong>, journalist for RTVE<\/strong> with more than 20 years of experience and applications expert at “Emprende”, propose this book with the aim of helping with the management process of a company, through the applications presented in the book.<\/p>\n

A practical guide for entrepreneurs<\/strong>, freelancers and businessmen<\/strong>, compiling the most useful applications, selected through a rigorous analysis.<\/p>\n

Alicia Salinas<\/strong>, National Trademark Manager for PONS IP<\/strong>, with more than fifteen years of experience in Intellectual Property<\/strong>, collaborated in the drafting of the chapter Intellectual Property of apps<\/strong>. Here, the emphasis is placed on the importance of how the trademark, those distinguishing signs by which the application is positioned in the market, is recognized by users and differs from competitors.<\/p>\n

It comments on the steps to follow and the points to keep in mind from its registration, with emphasis on proof of authorship and copyright ownership, to the choice of the domain name.<\/p>\n

\u201cOnce an idea is defined, the next step is to shape and protect it, in order to avoid unauthorized use by third-parties and to have exclusivity in the market. These are the most important advantages that intellectual property provides to the holders of trademarks, patents, designs or domain names in the field of applications”. <\/em>Alicia Salinas, National Trademark Manager at PONS IP<\/p>\n

Intellectual property protects artistic creations<\/strong>, works as a whole, from the moment of their creation, the evidence of the authorship, in this case, would be essential for its defense before third-parties. Alicia defines the three ways that are used, its characteristics and limitations, to help the reader detect which is the one to choose in their case. The Intellectual Property registry<\/strong>, the notarial deposit and the blockchain<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Once our creation has been registered, we can now prove the copyright ownership vis-\u00e0-vis third-parties, on the one hand, moral rights and, as a consequence of these, exploitation rights. Of the latter, it will be the author who decides the terms of use of the software through the licensing chosen: Free software license, Copyleft, Creative Commons, public domain software or copyrighted software<\/strong> are some of them. Alicia explains the main characteristics of each of them.<\/p>\n

As the last fundamental aspect for the complete protection of the “idea”, on the way to achieving exclusivity, differentiation, and protection against competitors, is the domain name. From it, our colleague Alicia makes an introduction, analyzes its parts, and explains the steps to follow in the registration process.<\/p>\n
