It is now official. Isabel Cort\u00e9s<\/b>, International Legal Affairs at PONS IP, has been appointed vice-chair of the Harmonization of Trademark Law and Practice Committee of the International Trademark Association (INTA), the world’s leading global association of professionals which represents more than 6,500 organizations from 184 countries and 34,000 trademark professionals worldwide. This way, Isabel Cort\u00e9s<\/b> becomes one of the two Spanish representatives out of a total of 112 volunteer members from 30 countries around the world who will be actively involved in INTA’s Committees during the 2022-2023 fiscal year.<\/p>\n
Isabel Cort\u00e9s, who has more than 20 years of international experience in the industry, will team up with Dan Englander, a lawyer from U.S. law firm Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton LLP, who moves up to chair the Committee following his year as vice chair alongside Winnie Tham from the Singapore-based firm Amica Law in the 2020-2021 fiscal year.<\/p>\n
The Harmonization of Trademark Law and Practice <\/i>Committee is a particularly relevant working group for INTA at the institutional level. This is so because one of its objectives is to evaluate efforts at the national, regional and international level through treaties, trade agreements, special conventions and other non-binding instruments that relate to trademark law and practice. Besides, the tasks of the Committee members include drafting the proposed treaty text and advocating INTA’s policy positions to relevant government officials on issues related to legislation and regulations in the field of trademark protection around the world.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
